A miracle is a surprising and welcome event that is not explained by natural or scientific laws and therefore attributed to the work of a divine agency, a work of God. After His resurrection, Christ commanded His disciples to stay in Jerusalem âuntil you are clothed with power from on highâ (Luke 24:49 ESV). Interestingly, several miracles "from power on high" took place on that Day of Pentecost. The first miracle was a sound like a âmighty rushing windâ (Acts 2:1-2). It was startling. … [Read more...] about When Pentecost Arrived

Remaining Steadfast
Godâs Church is central to His plan of salvation for all mankind as a precursor of the âpouring outâ of His Holy Spirit on all humanity. But that profound impact is difficult to grasp because the Churches are mostly ignored by the world today. What can we do now to ensure that we stay strong and donât fall prey to discouragement? There is a process to help us succeed. The beginning of the book of James gets right to it: âMy brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, … [Read more...] about Remaining Steadfast
Staying Awake
Are we awake spiritually? Or are we too caught up in our daily tasks? Letâs consider the periods of slumbering and awakening in our lives, and how we can learn to stay awake. Godâs Holy Spirit is active, but our human spirit, the âspirit in manâ (Job 32.8), which makes us each a unique individual, can slumber if we prevent Godâs Spirit from working in us. Just like when we are driving along, mind wandering, and find that weâve lost track of how we got to where we are, so a slumbering spirit … [Read more...] about Staying Awake
A Lasting Reputation
It would be reasonable to assume that Jesus Christ, during His human life, was a man of good reputation. But this was not always the case. During Jesus Christâs life He was considered a deceiver, a blasphemer, demonically possessed, and even Satan himself. A man of âno reputation,â no good reputation (Philippians 2:7). How can this be? How much it must have hurt to be falsely accused by the people He loved and for whom He was to give His life. Surely a good reputation is the primary goal of a … [Read more...] about A Lasting Reputation
A Holy Temple in the Lord
The Bible offers tremendous details given to us by Moses about the construction of the tabernacle in the wilderness. Much detail is offered about Godâs Temple built by King Solomon and Ezekiel was inspired to record a detailed vision about the temple Christ will inhabit after He returns as King of Kings. Though there is no physical temple built prior to Christâs return, there is a spiritual temple being constructed right now. This spiritual temple is built on the foundation of the prophets … [Read more...] about A Holy Temple in the Lord
Is Christ Your King?
When Christ returns, every human ruler will be dethroned and every idol will be dismantled. We who have already accepted Christâs dominion look forward to that time. But do we really see our King clearly? The first commandment prohibits idolatry and reinforces Godâs primary rule over all things. But throughout the history of Godâs people putting God first has been a continuous struggle. In 1446 B.C. the Israelites, having come out of Egypt witnessing Godâs miracles, lost sight of Moses and … [Read more...] about Is Christ Your King?
Our Human Potential
Humanity struggles to find purpose and meaning in life. Human beings have invented all sorts of distractions and ways to find meaning, usually in the form of religion â whether that be a political, a philosophical, or a theological religion. The Bible, by contrast, provides a bold and profound purpose for human existence: God is a family, a family of Creators. They are working to expand their family. If we start with pre-history, the accounts given in Genesis 1 and John 1, we can see … [Read more...] about Our Human Potential
